About Program

The purpose of the web development course is to introduce participants of the workshop to the web application structure and elements. By the end of the 3-hours course, young adults between the age group of 18 – 24 years old are expected develop a website.

Course Outline

  • Introduction to web application
  • Understanding the multi-tier architecture (client, web-tier, application-tier, database-tier)
  • Reviewing elements of a web application (modules, components, templates, plug-ins, languages)
  • Drilling into the coding aspect of a web application o Defining the programing languages used to develop a website
    • Understanding the Content Management System (CMS)
    • Deploying a web application using XAMP package and Joomla (CMS)
